A club house

Made from corrugated cardboard box strips and a life-time supply of sticky tape.  Even a four-year-old can build one!

There are two different lengths in the struts.  To calculate the lengths and to learn how to put them together, go to desertdome.com.

This dome had 35 struts that were 12" long and 30 struts that were 10.6" long.  It stands 19.4" high.

Five short struts make the spokes in the middle of a pentagon. Use the five long struts as the sides of each pentagon, which results in a shallow pentagonal pyramid.  Make six of these.  Then join three pentagons at a time by the corners.  One pentagon makes a roof and five pentagons form the sides.  Join the base of dome with the five remaining long struts.

The life-time supply of sticky tape was found at a garage sale for just $2.  I think we have enough tape to last until college, surely.....
